SKILL INDIA FOR INDEPENDENCE INDIA

Success Story of a

Speech Impaired Artisan

from Tripura

Kuheli

When the whole Nation will celebrate its 70th Independence Day on August 15 this year, India will experience two biggest challenges: the creation of new employment & organization for youth India and the creation of arrangement to skill them.

While the key priority should be on the skill development, the creation of a platform to generate more jobs will not be less in any sense. Emphasising on these key challenges, our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has launched the skill mission on 15 July, 2015 by putting the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA). The motive behind creating Skill India Mission is to control and make use of demographic dividend of India by training, employing millions of youth. But the question is do the hilly rural areas of North East India have supportive basic infrastructure or enough training institute and skilled trainers as per the changing skill demands?

Confronting all the odds and challenges when a speech impaired boy from a very challenging family dreamed to craft something unusual and rare, was quite surprising. He could never think of a visit to Paris to touch the Eiffel tower or even the nearby India Gate of Delhi. But his open eyed mind could do so. Where more than 95% of students in India give up vocational course, work education was his subject of excellence. I must confess that his huge intellectual curiosity level and his twinkling eyes are must bound to amaze anyone. While interviewing, he constantly likes to portray of himself and with which he was fascinated.
