Fr. PD Johny conferred with Lifetime Award

Fr. PD Johny, the Principal of Don Bosco College of Teachers Education, Tura, was awarded the Guruvar ‘Lifetime Achievement Award for East Zone at the Durbar Hall of Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi recently.
The award consists of a citation, trophy and a cash award of Rs. 10 lakhs, notably the highest ever cash award for a teacher in the world. Fr. Johny has had an illustrious career in education as he has served the sphere of education in many ways. He was a member of the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSe) for two terms and a member of the State Education Policy of Meghalaya. He was a State Level Committee member for revamping education in Meghalaya. He is presently a member of the Governing Board of Pine Mount School and a Managing Committee member of Loreto Convent, Shillong. He is also a former National President of the All India Association of Catholic Schools, New Delhi.
