Davinder Singh 1st Indian to qualify for Javelin Finals
Davinder Singh Kang creates history by becoming the first Indian to qualify for the final round of the javelin throw at the World Athletics Championships. Injured Kang cleared the automatic qualification mark of 83m in his third attempt with a distance of 84.22m. Being the last man to throw Kang uplifted the Indian team and eventually did it in style by sending the spear beyond the qualification mark to set his personal best at 84.22m.
His personal best placed him on 7th position among the top 10 to compete in the final on the 12th of August. With this he is the first Indian to do so at any Championship in the world.
